Gino’s story

Gino Gives was born from lived experience.

This is not a brand built from theory — it’s built from survival, healing, and purpose.

Here’s how it began.

In March of 2024, I went through one of the darkest moments of my life. After a tragic event and a long battle with depression, I attempted suicide with a handgun. I woke up days later in the hospital, shocked to learn I had survived.

The bullet entered through my lower jaw, damaging my tongue and gums, and exited through my nostril, leaving only a small scar on my nose. I couldn’t speak — a stoma had been placed in my throat, and it would remain there for over 30 days. Surgeons, doctors, and nurses tried to explain the damage, but all I could do was listen.

One nurse walked into my room without knowing why I had been admitted. I wrote her a note explaining what happened. She looked at me, confused, because the only visible sign was the scar on my nose. Later, she wrote me a letter. In it, she said she was sorry for what I had gone through, and she begged me never to try it again. She told me this was my second chance, that the world needed me, and that God still had plans for my life.

Reading her words broke something open in me. I cried deeply for the first time since waking up.

For years, I had imagined creating something that helped people — but now I understood the purpose behind it. I wanted to bring awareness, support, and real guidance to anyone struggling with mental health and unsure how to cope. I wanted people to know they are not alone, and that together, we can get through the hardest moments.

That’s when Gino Gives was truly born.
